I don\u2019t know. It could be defective, to be honest with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2349\">The encrypted messaging app, widely used across Washington, D.C., is favored for its security features and disappearing messages. Despite its popularity, Trump hinted at possible vulnerabilities, saying, \u201cEverybody uses Signal, but it could be a defective platform, and we\u2019re going to have to find that out.\u201d<\/p>\n<h6 data-start=\"2351\" data-end=\"2396\">Democratic Lawmakers Call for Resignation<\/h6>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2398\" data-end=\"2550\">Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly, both Democrats from Arizona, were among those demanding Hegseth\u2019s resignation, citing national security concerns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2552\" data-end=\"2741\">\u201cThe Signal incident is what happens when you have the most unqualified Secretary of Defense we\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d Kelly wrote on X. \u201cWe\u2019re lucky it didn\u2019t cost any servicemembers their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2743\" data-end=\"2922\">Gallego echoed the sentiment, stating, \u201cThis could have gotten our men and women killed! The Secretary of Defense needs to resign. The incompetence and cover-up are embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n<h6 data-start=\"2924\" data-end=\"2973\">Hegseth Denies Sharing Classified Information<\/h6>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"3144\">In response, Hegseth firmly denied that any classified data was shared. Taking to X, he criticized <em data-start=\"3074\" data-end=\"3088\">The Atlantic<\/em> for what he called a misrepresentation of his messages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3146\" data-end=\"3391\">\u201cThe Atlantic released the so-called \u2018war plans\u2019 and those \u2018plans\u2019 include: No names. No targets. No locations. No units. No routes. No sources. No methods. And no classified information,\u201d Hegseth wrote. \u201cThose are some really sh***y war plans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3393\" data-end=\"3625\">The message in question, labeled \u201cTeam Update,\u201d was sent on March 15 and reportedly included the timing of the strike and the type of weapons to be used. Hegseth defended it as a routine communication to keep key officials informed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3627\" data-end=\"3740\">\u201cMy job is to provide team updates in real time,\u201d he explained. \u201cThat\u2019s what I did\u2014and that\u2019s my responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<h6 data-start=\"3742\" data-end=\"3785\">Secretary of State Marco Rubio Responds<\/h6>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3787\" data-end=\"3911\">Secretary of State Marco Rubio also weighed in, acknowledging the mistake while downplaying its impact on national security.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3913\" data-end=\"4158\">\u201cObviously, someone made a big mistake by adding a journalist.
