So I thought, \u2018Well, this is a wonderful place to be,\u2019\u201d Parton replied to Cohen\u2019s question about the best thing she bought with the royalties. \u201cI bought a property down in what was the black area of town, and it was mostly just black families and people that lived around there. The legendary singer-songwriter was only 27 when she wrote \u201cJolene\u201d and \u201cI Will Always Love You\u201d back to back.<\/p>\n<p>Both songs would become signature hits but for very different reasons. \u201cJolene\u201d was inspired by a flirty interaction Dolly\u2019s husband had with a bank teller not long after they got married.
