With their four children\u2014a nine-year-old boy, a four-year-old boy, a two-year-old girl, and a three-month-old baby\u2014she was making the long drive alone. Authorities reported that their rental Jeep Cherokee collided with the back of a sedan, then struck a guardrail, erupting into flames. The kids were always happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, that house stands silent.<\/p>\n<p>Christian\u2019s stepmother, Sarah Stoltman, created a GoFundMe campaign to raise $35,000 to help bring Reagan and the children back to Florida for burial. You will forever be so deeply loved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Photographer Katrina Cusatis remembered capturing their maternity photos just months earlier: \u201cTheir love, joy, and connection were unforgettable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reagan\u2019s friend Cecily Corinne Borquez shared a childhood photo. \u201cYou were such an amazing friend\u2026 I\u2019ll never understand how something so tragic could happen to someone so incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just days before the Dougan crash, another child lost his life\u2014this time in Frankfort, Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>On April 4, nine-year-old Gabriel Andrews was walking to his school bus with his sister when he slipped into fast-moving floodwaters. The area had been hit hard by storms, and children in his apartment complex had to cross a drainage ditch to reach the bus stop. Residents and parents alike are questioning whether enough was done to protect children like Gabriel during extreme weather.<\/p>\n<p>Frankfort\u2019s police chief, mayor, and county judge all publicly expressed their sorrow. \u201cA tragedy such as this is felt by our entire community,\u201d said Mayor Layne Wilkerson.<\/p>\n<p>In two different towns, heartbreak arrived on two different days.
